Can I ask a few technical questions??
How did you get the kite to fly?
I'm wondering about this because I'm a toy photographer too, and I'd love any tips you can give me, if you are willing
Thanks, if you could. If not, thank you anyway. Your art really brightened my no good, horrible, very bad day. I needed a lift-me-up so much.

I can't quite remmeber how I got the kite to fly, it was either a stick or a bit of wire that was photoshopped out afterwards.

That's what I was thinking. Wire is the easiest explanation.
Thanks for your feedback -- that definitely helps. I really appreciate it!
